Embracing purity, gratitude, and harmony to inspire new growth.
What Is a Melaspas Ceremony?
In Balinese tradition, every new building — whether a home, temple, or resort facility — must be spiritually purified before use. This sacred ritual is known as the Melaspas Ceremony, derived from the words “mela” (to cleanse) and “pas” (to purify). It represents a profound act of gratitude and respect toward the divine forces that inhabit the land.
The Melaspas is performed to cleanse negative energy and invite positive spiritual balance, ensuring that the structure is blessed and ready to serve its purpose. It connects the physical and unseen realms, harmonizing human activity with the blessings of nature and the divine. In Balinese belief, a building without this ritual is considered spiritually incomplete — the Melaspas brings it to life.
Blessing the New Expansion Facility at Tlaga Singha
On November 5th, 2025, which coincided with the full moon of the fifth Balinese calendar month—an auspicious day for sacred rituals—Tlaga Singha proudly held its Melaspas Ceremony to purify and bless its newly expanded facilities, marking another milestone in its journey of growth and excellence.
The day began with prayers and offerings led by Balinese priests, followed by a series of rituals symbolizing the infusion of divine energy into the newly built space. Fragrant incense filled the air as colorful offerings — representing gratitude, balance, and hope — adorned the surroundings. This moment united the owners, their families, and the entire team in shared prayer, strengthening their collective commitment to future success. Their presence created an atmosphere of reverence and joy, reflecting Tlaga Singha’s sincere dedication and togetherness in preserving Balinese cultural and spiritual values.
Gebogan Competition: A Tribute to Creativity and Team Spirit
Adding a festive touch to the sacred event, the organizing committee hosted a Gebogan Competition featuring six departments. Gebogan — elaborate towers made from fruits, flowers, and traditional cakes — symbolize abundance, devotion, and artistic harmony in Balinese culture.
Each department crafted stunning arrangements that celebrated teamwork and cultural artistry. The displays were not only visually captivating but also carried deep spiritual symbolism. After careful judging, the Sales and Marketing Department emerged as the winner, recognized for their creativity, precision, and balance — qualities that beautifully reflect Tlaga Singha’s brand spirit.
A Hopeful Blessing for the Future
As prayers concluded, the sacred water was sprinkled across the new facility, sealing the blessings of purity and divine harmony. The Melaspas Ceremony at Tlaga Singha was more than a cultural event — it was a spiritual renewal, symbolizing gratitude for the past and blessings for the future.
May the divine energy invoked through this ceremony shine through the resort’s daily operations, inspiring the team to deliver excellence, warmth, and authenticity in every guest experience. And may every visitor who steps into Tlaga Singha feel the peace and balance that this ceremony has bestowed — a place where body, mind, and spirit can truly unwind.
At Tlaga Singha, tradition meets inspiration — creating a sanctuary where every moment flows with harmony and purpose.
